Movies

Good Will Hunting (1997)

Will Hunting is a blue-collar janitor at MIT with a secret prowess for mathematics. Though set in Boston, much of this Oscar-winning film was shot in Toronto, including a scene when Minnie Driver's and Matt Damon's characters go shopping together at the Ontario Specialty Company (where you can still see autographed movie stills under the front counter today).

Hollywood North (2003)

A movie producer buys the rights to a classic Canadian novel, Lantern Moon, and things soon go awry once Hollywood enters the picture. A documentary crew captures the out-of-control on-set drama, turning the film into a nightmare for the producer.

Last Night (1998)

In this sci-fi drama set in Toronto, it's the last night on Earth and a variety of Canucks each have their own ways to spend their final hours. Directed by Don McKellar, the film won "Award of the Youth" at the Cannes Film Festival.

Let's All Hate Toronto (2007)

Stemming from Canadians' strange animosity toward Toronto, this hilarious film follows a man who goes by "Mister Toronto" as he departs on a countrywide Toronto Appreciation tour to discover the roots of the ill will.
