"The environment and historic fabric have been beautifully preserved, and tourism seems to be booming. New development in the historic core doesn't intrude. Interpretation of the dark history of World War II is heading in the right direction, but not yet there. Tourism facilities seem well placed, especially those across the river (high-rise hotels). Since the city is now on a very popular circuit (Baltics cruise and land packages), the future is not clear."
